My prefecture on the map again… This time on the NY times… at one of my favorite spots. I can spend the entire day there just admiring the cliffs even though I saw someone just off once.
It is an amazing view, and sometimes I understand how a person would want to jump. Just sometimes. But usually I prefer sitting there with the ice cream that they sell… pref. the sweet potato and just think.
However, this is indeed a sad place. I appreciate Mr. Shige. I have seen him on occassions and sometimes I just want to stir up a conversation but my Japanese isn’t up to par.
It saddens me because suicide is something that is so common here in Japan. As if it were nothing… some people even see it as honorable…
I want to meet this guy.
